I want to point to the one shift (big change), that is the primary cause of change. It’s the “change of all changes” that a person must make at some point in their lives if they want to be able to live into their full potential, with grace in this life.
It’s the only change that is even bigger than learning proactive energy recovery to become a Change Hero—someone who can make essential changes fluidly with relative ease, in the right mindset (in right relationship to their brain) and skills set to improve and ultimately optimize the way they live.
I often refer to this change as “the greatest and most important lifestyle change one can make and will ever make” because it’s so fundamental; or more accurately stated, primary to all other changes one could imagine making in life. It’s why I also refer to it as the cause of change. Even when you haven’t personally decided to adapt, the primary cause of change is evolving your body/brain environment, and relationships moment to moment.
It’s the difference between making a change well, or with struggle.
The primary cause of change is waking up to living your life from pure awareness, or consciousness of the intelligent energy and information that arises from the great wellspring that sources life and consciousness for us all.
Athletes would call this “the Zone” and when they are living from the zone, they are in a state of flow.
It’s only when we live from that posture to the world, and greatly reduce living identified with the brain and the countless thoughts that replay automatically every day, that we free ourselves from the daily suffering so many of go through when life it not playing out the way you want.
This is to say when we are NOT in a state of mind where the emergence of new energy and information is our normal disposition and our primary identity for that matter and, we have cut ourselves off from the flow of forward-moving change; improving, and optimizing the way we live is pretty hard.
In that case, you will be subject to fighting for inches in the world of personal development, only once and a while glimpsing what is possible when you make the shift to living from the ground of being and becoming.
In a previous Change Hero Insights, I talked about the Key to Change that you will never guess. What I’m talking about here is the primary cause of change for human beings and at the source of all human performance.
While you can never be divorced from this “source,” of emergent energy and information (else you’d be dead), as this is what is giving you, your life force; you can live separated from it, identified with your brain and it’s thoughts (aka your history) and never come close to “unleashing the power within” as Tony Robbins would say.
Dr. Dan Siegel MD, author of Mindsight, and the 3 editions of The Developing Mind, is one of my favorite go-to scientists on what I’m talking about here. He talks about what your mind actually is, and in his thought-provoking book (see video) ==>> Mind: A Journey to the Heart of Being Human, that offers a comprehensive, powerful definition of the “mind;” he says the mind is an “emergent, self-organizing, embodied, and relational process that regulates the flow of energy and information.”
Notably, a comprehensive, complex, and dynamic definition that is felt to be missing from a wide range of fields, including medicine, psychology, and even philosophy.
Time to start using meditation to start living from that source of intelligent energy and information that is the absolute best part of yourself.
